Tensions Escalate as Eritrea Warns Ethiopia Over Seaport Dispute

Tensions are rising in the Horn of Africa after Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki issued a stern warning to Ethiopia over its renewed efforts to secure seaport access. Afwerki warned that Eritrea, though smaller in population, would not be intimidated and is prepared to defend its sovereignty. The two nations, whose relations remain fragile since a deadly border war between(1998–2000) and eventually signed a peace deal in 2018, are now at odds over strategic Red Sea interests.
