Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany is expected to miss an extended period after being hospitalised with a virus.
The club’s sporting director, Max Eberl, confirmed on Saturday that the 40-year-old was in a stable condition, with medical examinations continuing to determine the cause of his illness and recovery timeline.
Kompany collapsed during training on Friday. His English assistant, Aaron Danks, will take charge of Bayern’s Bundesliga match against Freiburg on Sunday.
