BOOST BILATERAL COOPERATION
Egypt said it is working with Pakistan to develop a joint roadmap for 2026 aimed at strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors. The announcement came as Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty delivered a written message from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari during an official visit to Islamabad.
Abdelatty urged full implementation of United Nation UN Security Council Resolution 2803 on Gaza and progress on the second phase of United State, US President Donald Trump’s ceasefire plan, which has been in place since October 10. He stressed that an international stabilization force is essential to sustain the truce adding that ongoing preparations for a Gaza reconstruction conference is yet to be finalized.
The ceasefire, mediated by Türkiye, Egypt and Qatar, paused two years of Israeli attacks that killed more than 70,000 people and injured over 170,000. Phase one of the agreement includes exchanging Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners and laying the groundwork for Gaza’s reconstruction and new governance structure without hamas.
