EU earmarks €10.4m for sustainable energy in Nigeria’s healthcare

European Union EU earmarks €10.4 million to fund Nigeria Solar for Health Project aimed at providing primary healthcare centres with reliable and sustainable solar energy solutions.
Head of Section, Green & Digital Economy, EU Inga Stephanowicz, , disclosed this at the Project Developers Roundtable Workshop in Abuja.
She said the project aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s healthcare sector by providing reliable energy to boost healthcare services and outcomes in Nigeria, collaborating with the Federal government, private sector entities, and local communities.
The project would focus on ensuring adequate solar power supply to 45 healthcare facilities in selected states.
Team Lead, for the health project, Nasiru Bello, , said by leveraging solar power, the country could improve healthcare outcomes, increase access to electricity, and promote economic growth.
