EX-AVIATION MINISTER, STELLA ODUAH ARRAIGNED OVER ALLEGED ₦5 BILLION FRAUD

Former Minister of Aviation, Senator Stella Oduah, has been arraigned before the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Maitama over alleged fraud totaling ₦5 billion. The Federal Government, through the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi accused her of obtaining funds ₦2.4 billion, ₦1.6 billion, and ₦839 million under different circumstances from the Ministry of Aviation using Broad Waters Resources as false pretences in providing technical supervision in 2014.
Oduah and her co-defendant, Gloria Odita, pleaded not guilty to the five-count charge. Justice Hamza Muazu granted Oduah bail on self-recognition, she was however ordered to surrender her passport and seek court approval before travelling. This is the second prosecution attempt, as an earlier EFCC case was withdrawn
