FEDERAL GOVERNMENT UNVEILS ONLINE CLASSES FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Federal Ministry of Education has launched the Inspire Live(s) Online Real-Time Classes Initiative, a nationwide digital learning programme designed to expand access to quality education for Nigerian schoolchildren.
The ministry, in a statement on Tuesday signed by its Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo, described the initiative as a groundbreaking programme designed to expand equitable access to quality learning for every Nigerian child, tackle teachers shortages, overcrowded classrooms, and learning disruptions by streaming interactive lessons to students across the country.
the programme currently serves Junior secondary school and Senior Secondary School learners, with plans to extend to primary schools, Classes run from Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and are delivered by certified master teachers via a platform managed by Cisco Webex. State Commissioners for Education are to appoint focal officers and equip schools with necessary Information and communication technology tools. Open to both public and private schools, the ministry believes the initiative will boost learning outcomes and promote equitable access to quality education nationwide.
