NIGERIAN ARMY ARRESTS 20 SUSPECTED OIL THIEVES, DESTROYS 19 ILLEGAL REFINERIES, IN NIGER DELTA

In the ongoing anti Crude Oil Theft operations in the Niger Delta Region, Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested 20 suspected oil thieves, destroying 19 illegal refining sites and recovered 589, 000 litres of stolen petroleum products
Acting Deputy Director 6 Division Army Public Relations Lieutenant Colone. Jonah Danjuma in a release made public in Port Harcourt on Sunday, disclosed the feat was achieved during a week-long operation conducted in Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta and ikwa ibom states in collaboration with sister security agencies between 19 and 25 May
the oil thieves were handed over to the appropriate agency, while products confiscated have been handled in line with the extant operational mandate”.
General Officer Commanding, 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Emmanuel Emekah, reassured nigerians the troops od the 6 division will intensify efforts at identifying other illegal refining sites and dismantled them in its fight against oil theft
