US LAWMAKERS INVESTIGATE KILLINGS OF PASSENGERS ON VENEZUELAN DRUG BOAT

United State lawmakers are demanding answers from the Trump administration following reports that American forces carried out a second strike on a suspected Venezuelan drug-smuggling boat to kill survivors of an initial attack.
It was reported that Defence Secretary, Pete Hegseth had issued a verbal order to “kill everybody” on board, a claim he and President Trump dismissed. Since early September, more than 80 people have been killed in a series of US strikes on vessels in international waters off Venezuela and Colombia
Both Republican Lawmaker, Mike Turner and Democratic lawmaker, Senator Tim Kaine on Sunday said the allegations raise serious legal and moral concerns, with Senator, Tim Kaine warning the actions could constitute a war crime if confirmed. Congressional committees in both the Senate and House have launched bipartisan inquiries seeking a full accounting of the operations.
Meanwhile, Venezuela’s National Assembly has condemned the strikes and announced its own investigation.
