Former Osun state Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has denied allegation of interfering in the party’s screening process ahead of the December 13 primary. The Special Adviser to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Bolaji Akinola, has dismissed claims by the Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Senator Iyiola Omisore that Minister Adegboyega Oyetola is responsible for his disqualification from the race and 6 others.
In a statement issued to newsmen, Akinola described the claims as baseless and misleading, insisting that Oyetola had no role, direct or indirect in the decisions of the Screening Committee or the Screening Appeal Panel.
Akinola stressed that both bodies operate independently under the APC Constitution and that any suggestion of undue influence was unfounded. He said Oyetola, a former governor and respected party leader, remains committed to fairness and internal democracy.
The minister’s aide urged aspirants to address grievances through proper party channels while calling on stakeholders to prioritize unity and the overall interest of the APC and Osun State.
