JIGAWA GOVERNOR  RECRUITS 1,920 TEACHERS TO TACKLE SHORTAGE IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has approved the recruitment of 1,100 graduates to address the shortage of qualified teachers in senior secondary schools across the state.

Namadi announced this during the presentation of appointment letters to the beneficiaries in Dutse, saying the recruitment will improve the teacher-student ratio and strengthen the education sector.

The governor said the 1,100 teachers will be converted to permanent and pensionable positions, while another 820 personnel will be employed under the Jigawa Teachers Employment and Capacity Enhancement Programme, J-TEACH.

He added that the initiative will particularly benefit underserved rural communities and provide employment opportunities for qualified young people.
