Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered that the campaign vehicles donated by the founder of the PBAT door-to-door movement be parked at the government house, pending a formal decision by stakeholders on their deployment.
Governor Adeleke also promised to convene a meeting with key stakeholders to agree on a strategic deployment plan for the vehicles.
“In a bid to ensure productive deployment of the vehicles and other logistics donated by the door-to-door organisation, I will soon convene a stakeholders’ meeting to determine a deployment strategy.
“All the donated vehicles should therefore be parked on the open field within the Government House pending the stakeholders’ decision. I must also warn that the vehicles are strictly for the presidential campaign. We will not tolerate the diversion of the vehicles for personal purposes,” Adeleke said.
The directive follows the inauguration of the movement over the weekend, where the founder, Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (represented by Dr. Kestin Pondi), unveiled 30 campaign vehicles equipped with speakers, generators, and amplifiers.
Ekpemupolo announced that the vehicles and future resources would be channeled directly through Governor Adeleke, acting in his capacity as the Osun State coordinator of the President Bola Tinubu Campaign Council.
“These vehicles that we have brought, and the resources that we are going to be providing, will be channeled through the coordinator of the President Bola Tinubu campaign in Osun State,” Ekpemupolo stated.
Praising President Tinubu’s economic policies, he added, “We believe in the man’s reformation agenda, and we believe that he is what Nigeria needs at this point in time. Our economy is stable, and investors are returning to Nigeria.
“Today, your governor has funds to execute projects, and salaries are paid on time because President Bola Tinubu was bold enough to initiate these crucial reforms.”
Represented by Bola Oyebamiji, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, challenged the 10,000 canvassers to approach their assignment with sincerity, discipline, and unwavering commitment, while shunning complacency and hypocrisy.
Oyetola appealed to all stakeholders to rise above personal egos and political differences.
“With unity of purpose, effective grassroots mobilization, and unwavering commitment, we can deliver the 1.5 million votes targeted for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Osun State and secure victory for our party’s candidates at all levels,” he said.
Meanwhile, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi, urged Osun residents to rally behind President Tinubu, regardless of party affiliation, to secure two million votes for the state.
“We are calling on students, youth groups, and civil servants to use their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to retain a progressive government for the future of young Nigerians,” Adekanbi urged.
The well-attended event brought together prominent figures from the APC, PDP, and Accord parties, including APC National Secretary Dr. Ajibola Basiru, Accord Chairman Victor Akande, and APC Chairman Tajudeen Lawal, among other dignitaries.
