Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on Tuesday presented a ₦884.868 billion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly, describing it as a “Budget of Actualization and Hope.” an overwhelming ₦749.49 billion, about 85 percent of the budget has been channeled into capital projects aimed at expanding infrastructure, strengthening human capital, and advancing key reforms.
Governor Nwifuru during the presentation of the Appropriation Bill said the proposal reflects the priorities of citizens under the People’s Charter of Needs and is designed to drive industrialization, boost economic recovery, and improve living standards across the state.
He highlighted achievements from the outgoing fiscal year, citing the payment of long-overdue pensions, empowerment of more than 5,000 residents, major educational expansions, and improvements in healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure.
