Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, says his administration has employed no fewer than 8,358 workers across the state’s civil service, local governments and security outfits in the last four years.

The governor also disclosed that the state generated 88.4 billion naira in Internally Generated Revenue within the same period. He made this known while delivering his State of the State address at the Ekiti State House of Assembly complex in Ado-Ekiti.
Governor Oyebanji said Ekiti’s Gross Domestic Product increased from 2.4 trillion naira in 2019 to 4.6 trillion naira in 2023, representing a 90 per cent growth. He added that recent projections indicate the state’s GDP is approaching 8.8 trillion naira.
On revenue generation, the governor explained that the state’s monthly IGR averaged between 650 and 700 million naira when he assumed office in 2022, with total revenue reaching 8.7 billion naira that year before rising to 12 billion naira in 2023.
He attributed the improvements to institutional reorganization, reforms in tax administration and an improved business environment.
