The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has warned residents to stop selling, buying, or using firecrackers and other unauthorized fireworks ahead of the festive season, citing rising circulation and safety risks. Spokesperson Josephine Adeh said officers have been instructed to enforce the ban and prosecute offenders.
Residents were urged to report violators, while Imo and Plateau state police have also imposed similar bans to prevent fire outbreaks, injuries, and disturbances during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
