Federal Road The Safety Corps has barred its personnel from escorting politicians during campaigns for the 2027 general elections.
The RS6 Zonal Commanding Officer, ACM Abimbola Owolabi, gave the directive during her maiden visit to the Cross River Command in Calabar.
She warned that patrol vehicles and sirens must not be used for political activities or private events such as weddings and funerals.
Owolabi directed officers deployed to campaign venues to focus on traffic management and preventing road crashes. She also cautioned personnel against extortion, corruption and other unprofessional conduct, urging them to uphold the corps’ integrity and intensify public road safety education.
