POLICE ARREST FOUR OVER ALLEGED N5M MOBILE PHONE THEFT IN OSUN

The Osun state police command has arrested four suspects over the alleged theft of mobile phones worth about N5 million from a shop in Oja-Oba, Osogbo, the state capital.

The command’s spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, said the arrests followed a complaint by the victim and credible intelligence from members of the public.

The suspects were identified as Afeez Arole, 30; Salami Wahab Idowu, 49; Akanmu Afeez, 37; and Adebisi Taofeek, 47.

According to Ojelabi, the complainant reported that his shop at Oja-Oba had been burgled by suspected hoodlums who stole various mobile phones valued at approximately N5 million. He said the police subsequently commenced efforts to track down the suspects.

Ojelabi said credible information received indicated that some suspected members of the group had been sighted around Oja-Oba. He said intelligence-led surveillance and investigation led police operatives to a suspected hideout, where the four suspects were arrested.
