SUDAN DRONE STRIKES KILL 21, CAUSE MASS OUTAGES IN THE EAST

Sudan has suffered widespread power outages following drone attacks blamed on the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, RSF, targeting electricity infrastructure.

The attacks on Monday reportedly struck five power substations across Sennar, Al-Jazira, Gedaref and White Nile states, disrupting electricity supplies across southeastern Sudan.

The state-owned electricity company says the strikes severely damaged electrical equipment and threatened the stability of the national power grid.

The outages have raised concerns over healthcare services, food preservation and agricultural activities, as residents fear prolonged power cuts could damage medicines and food supplies and disrupt irrigation.
