A public affairs analyst, Comrade Odeyemi Oluwaseun, has urged political parties and their candidates to resolve their differences and maintain peace as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 general elections. The call follows the omission of several candidates from the final lists released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He further stated that the development has triggered protests and anxiety among affected parties, with some expressing dissatisfaction over the candidates listed by INEC. While some political platforms have raised concerns about the credibility of their primaries, others have identified internal party disputes as a major challenge ahead of the elections.
Speaking on Good Morning Nigeria on Vicinity 95.3 FM, Comrade Odeyemi said the situation could threaten party unity and lead to further legal disputes if not properly addressed. He called on political parties, including the ADC, NDC, and other affected parties, to resolve their differences through legal means and ensure that only duly nominated candidates are included on the final lists ahead of the 2027 general elections.
