LAWMA WITHDRAWS LICENCES OF SIX PRIVATE WASTE COLLECTORS OVER SERVICE FAILURES

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has withdrawn the operating licences of six private waste collectors over alleged failure to meet required service standards.

The action was announced in Lagos today as the state intensifies efforts to improve waste management and sanitation. The affected operators were reportedly found not to have met the standards required for their operations.

LAWMA said the measure is part of efforts to ensure better waste collection and maintain a cleaner environment across Lagos.
