The Obidient Movement has rejected the Independent National Electoral Commission’s plan to deploy Artificial Intelligence in the 2027 election results process.
In a statement signed by its Media and Communications Director, Onyeka Dike, the group urged INEC to suspend the plan until it publishes a clear and independently auditable framework for the technology.
The movement also demanded that election results remain traceable to polling units and called on INEC to publish Forms EC8A to EC8E on the IReV portal to strengthen transparency.
It further criticized INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, over his warning to media organizations against announcing results not officially released by the commission.
