
The governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in Ogun State, Prince Babajide Matthew, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to strengthen public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He urged INEC to ensure that the 2027 General Elections are credible, transparent and a reflection of the will of Nigerians.
He commended the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ogun State, Mrs Saseyi Feyijimi Ibiyemi, for her efforts, noting that recent electoral processes, particularly the Osun State Governorship Election, gave Nigerians an opportunity to assess INEC’s commitment to neutrality, professionalism and due process.
The APM candidate, urged the Federal Government to continue providing the electoral Commission with the necessary independence and institutional space to conduct the 2027 elections impartially.
