The Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zungura, has ordered tactical teams to raid suspected criminal hideouts in Osogbo following renewed cult violence in the state capital.
The directive came after suspected cultists shot a resident, Rasak Wahab, popularly known as ‘Ojo Iku,’ in the Arowomole area of Osogbo on Sunday. Security sources said the incident occurred on Sunday morning, adding that the assailants were suspected members of a rival cult group.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Osun State Police Command, Abiodun Ojelabi said the teams had been directed to conduct intelligence-led raids and operations, targeting identified cult members, criminal hideouts and other locations linked to criminal activities.
