Public service workers under the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council, have commenced a three-day warning strike over the worsening economic and mental hardship affecting workers
The industrial action commenced at midnight today, Friday, October the 2nd, and is expected to end on Sunday, October the 4th,
In a circular dated October the 1st and signed by the National Secretary of the council, Olowoyo Gbenga, the council directed its national and state leaders to mobilize workers for the strike and ensure the directive reaches public servants across the country.
The council said the decision followed the Federal Government’s alleged failure to respond to requests submitted to President Bola Tinubu in a letter dated September 21.
It called on workers in federal, state and local government services to participate in the action, saying the strike is aimed at drawing attention to the economic difficulties and other challenges confronting workers and their dependants.
