The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has clashed with the State House of Assembly over the recently passed Integrated Transport, Traffic and Park Management System Bill.
The APC, through its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, argued that the Assembly lacks the constitutional authority to regulate and manage motor parks across the state. The party said the legislation is inconsistent with the 1999 Constitution, particularly provisions relating to the functions of local governments.
The APC also warned that the bill could lead to a disturbance of public peace in the state. However, the lawmakers rejected the party’s position, describing it as a misinterpretation of the Constitution and insisting that the Assembly has the legislative authority to make laws concerning transportation, traffic and park management in Osun State.
